The field does vary from 1 to 5 lines. Free text comment field, user can type anything in they want. I was playing around with the datastation and my source file and I agree with you that the fixed width or the delimited are my best options. I will just have to use a bit of VBA to clean up the source file and parse the records the way I need them to be.
