I'm not OP but wanted to test this.
I started a new project ran it in the immediate window;
Shutdown = True
Boston closed down within a few seconds. This is Server 2012 R2 and Boston Workstation 11.1 Patch 6

I did check system performance and its just windows recommended and performance is set for background services.
